Does Your Old Nature Need to Die? Part 2

As a Christian disciple, you can ravage many months and years of your precious life, when you do not put your old nature and worldly desires to the cross. This vicious cycle, can leave you spiritually bankrupt and ineffective as a follower of Christ Jesus. Not to mention that it can stunt your faith level, because buried deep within you, is possibly some mistrust of God. I’m here to tell you that if this is happening, do not run from God, he already knows, and he still loves you.

All God wants for you is his very best! He wants to equip you with every provision you need as his child, so you can be a fruitful victorious Christian disciple. When you hold on to a nature or desires that separate you from our Father in Heaven and the very provision he has meticulously laid out for you. You suffer, and those provisions go untouched, by you.

You cannot receive all that he has for you in this life while you cling with a death grip to perishable and sinful natures and desires that keep you locked up, in the futility of this world. You have to let it go! Letting go is profitable and equates freedom for you, here’s the good news:

By his divine power, God has given you everything you need for living a godly life. You have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called you to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given you great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 2 Peter 1:3-4

God is trust worthy and does not tell you to put those old natures and desires to death without providing for you, an entirely new nature and new desires that are not corrupted(Colossians 3:10). So let that old nature and those desires crumble into a heap around your feet (Colossians 3:5-9), forever lost and dead to you. Then walk out with your new nature fashioned tightly about you (Ephesians 4:22-24). Live the rich and abundant life God has planned for you right now and into eternity (John 10:10).

God’s very character, his essential qualities are yours, so that you can overcome and be victorious over the nature and worldly desires within you that try to direct and pollute your authority, as a child of God. God wants what is most excellent for his children and he has provisions for each one of us, today. He cares for you beyond your own comprehension.

Therefore reset your mindset. Your full surrender to our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus allows you to live in abundant treasures! So go ahead, exchange that old worn-out nature and those hollow desires, so you can partake in God’s divine nature. What are you waiting for? Take what has been provided for you, it’s yours!
