A Way to Hope!

Hope is so necessary in life! Wouldn’t you agree? I hope so! Everyone needs hope and I mean that, from the worst of us to the best of us. Have you lost hope?  I want to encourage you that true hope can be yours, again!

You may say, how do I do that?  I’ll answer back and say, thru Christ Jesus and the Word of God.  I am a living witness standing with many others, over the course of thousands of years.  You can have hope again through any circumstance.  And no, you do not have to be perfect! You don’t even have to be good!

In fact, you can be exactly who you are today, whatever state that is and be received by Christ Jesus.  He’s always ready, willing and able to receive you.  I know this to be true.   When I came to know Christ Jesus, I was so full of sinful ways, but the love I felt from Him, renewed me.  I began to read and receive the Word of God as being God’s true word.  I received the Word of God, as if He was speaking to me personally.

That began to change me from the inside out.  I began to put my full trust in Christ Jesus. That included me not putting my trust in my own self.  Which was and is a challenge, to say the least, but not impossible, in the power of the Holy Spirit.   As I continued to do that daily, weekly and so on, I came upon scriptures that talked about Hope.  I learned that God had a plan for my life and that plan was to bring Me hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11).

It had not occurred to me that Christ Jesus intentionally wanted me to have hope. In Romans 15:18 it says “may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” He not only wants you and I to have hope but hope overflowing.  It was scriptures like these that began to whisper life to places in me that had been dead.

I began to understand that hope was a critical component to my life, my faith and my salvation.  Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines hope as “to cherish a desire with anticipation, to desire with expectation of obtainment or to expect with confidence.”

The King James Version Dictionary defines hope to be ”a desire of some good, accompanied with at least a slight expectation of obtaining it, or a belief that it is obtainable. Confidence in a future event; the highest degree of well founded expectation of good and an opinion or belief not amounting to certainty, but grounded on substantial evidence.”

The commentary that accompanies the KJV Dictionary’s definition of hope, suggest that “Hope differs from wish and desire in this, that it implies some expectation of obtaining the good desired, or the possibility of possessing it. Hope therefore always gives pleasure or joy; whereas wish and desire may produce or be accompanied with pain and anxiety.”

I would have to agree with the commentator from the KJV Dictionary.  The hope that I now have does give me great joy and pleasure.   I have journeyed thus far with Christ Jesus and I am confident in who He is and what He is doing in my life.  He has been absolutely trust worthy, truthful and not only fulfilled my hopes and desires, but is surpassing them.  As I chronicle my journey from no hope to hope filled and purposeful.  It is my hope that you will be strengthen, find or gain a hope in Christ Jesus, that cannot be shaken, no matter what unfolds out of your world.

Friend I want this for you!  God does not want you walking around in your life hopeless.  He has strategically set up a way for mankind (His children) to have a hope filled life.  He has even more for you. He wants you to have joy, peace and a future that is bountiful.  The very nature of the word Hope echoes His plans for you.  Grab hold of it, because it is yours to have, today!
